Local Grief Counseling
Mulhearn Funeral Homes have been offering grief after care services for 20 years, through our family services counselor, Mrs. Dianne Guillot. She is available to help the families we serve and others work through the process of grief. There are several stages of grief and Dianne will help any individual work thru them at their own pace.
Mrs. Guillot holds an advanced bereavement facilitator certificate from the American Academy of Bereavement. She has attended numerous hours of inservice training seminars dealing with the grief process. This after care program has allowed the Mulhearn Family to help many individuals and families through a very difficult process.
Mrs. Guillot is available to our community through the Mulhearn Support Group, a group of widows and widowers that meet twice a month. This enables the participants to share the many changes which are occurring in their lives. This group is open to anyone in the communities we serve and there are no fees for these services. This is just another way our family can be of help.
Mrs. Guillot is very active in speaking engagements in our community. She is available to talk to any civic, church, youth or school group with a program called Life after Loss and a simple monologue called "Walter".
She is very attentive to the needs of children and has been called numerous times by our local school system to talk to students about a tragic accident or just to comfort an individual child about a death in their family.
Mrs. Guillot also knows when someone is in need of professional help and will immediately give family members notice to seek a physician.
Mrs. Guillot is a wife, mother and grandmother, and is actively involved in her church, Ridge Ave Baptist Church. She is currently serving her second term as president of Quota International of Monroe, a member of the board of directors of Senior Olympics, Retired Senior Volunteer Program and Cable (Communites Acting to Benefit Louisiana's Elderly. She is a trainer for the Citzens Emergency Response Team, where she has been able to help with crisis intervention as part of the team for Ouachita and Union parishes.
